Five Mystique Moons for Dark Shadows
DARK SHADOWS by J.J. Keller

Momma Mia! I need a cold shower and some aspirin. There was so much passion in DARK SHADOWS that I thought my head would explode. I LOVE THIS BOOK!! In fact, I love this book so much that I nearly blew off finishing my day's work so that I could finish it in one setting. Duty called, however, and I got to it as soon as I could. And what a finish! DARK SHADOWS has it all: Good versus Evil; Love, Lust and Secrets competing for dominance; boundless love and those velvet ties that transcend even the strangest of circumstances.

Mark and Tori are leading relatively normal lives, tending to the bar they inherited, the Dark Shadows. For all intents and purposes they are "normal" folks, except they have not-so-normal abilities. Tori is a "fire-starter" and Mark is a telepath. [Editor's note: This would be a handy talent to have when the beer has been flowing a bit too freely.] Life is as usual until a HOT guys begins to visit the pub on a regular basis. He catches Tori's eye. She catches his eye as well. Good?

Not really. He's not human. He's a "guardian," one of the entities entrusted to eternally walk the earth and locate black/evil souls and dispatch them to Hell. He'd been at his job for a while and was delighted to find diversion in the lovely Tori. But, he won't tell her his secret. It's the old immoral-loves-mortal complaint, (she'll grow old and die and I'll be left with painful memories), but author Keller wields her pen with skill and compassion. Love blooms and Henri, the guardian, decides it will be better to be mortal with his love than live forever without her after her life's natural span completes. The Powers That Be agree, but with one condition: "Locate your replacement, Dude. These dark souls are not gonna go away just cuz you're hitched." Luckily, there's Mark.

I won't tell more of the story line, out of respect for the author, but the story continues with enough plot twists and passion for this reader to be glued to her seat. What a ride! As I said before, I LOVE this story. Sure, it has the classic fairy tale ending, but the story is crafted with such skill that I didn't mind. Indeed, I wouldn't have been a happy reader if there hadn't been a Happily Ever After end. I mean, this is a romance books after all. Right?

Anyway, this book is fabulous and romantic and going on my Keeper shelf. If J.J. Keller has more books in this line, feel free to push them in this direction. Fan for Life!! That's me.

Tori Kepler has an unusual “gift” that keeps her from forming close attachments unless the other person wants to be seriously burned, literally. Running a bar and grill with her brother seems like her only option and then her brother decides he wants to sell the bar and go off to save the world. Henri Chambers is a bar customer and the first man in a long time to interest Tori but Henri is much more than he seems. Henri is an immortal guardian and he has come to recruit Tori’s brother; he never counted on meeting Tori, the only woman to ever stir Henri’s passion. Can fate really be that cruel and dangle mates in front of each other only to deny them an opportunity to be together?

I love when a paranormal author can come up with new and unusual characters. Henri has the ability to damn the damned to hell with the touch of his finger – he is the ultimate tool for justice in the universe. Unfortunately that same fairness doesn’t seem to be offered to Henri. Why would he meet his soul mate when he has no option to be with her?
Tori is a strong independent woman who goes after what she wants only to have it torn from her grasp by fate. And to compound Tori’s tragedy, she must also lose her brother, her last living relative and best friend. This doesn’t sound like a fun story! But the strength of a determined woman is illustrated as Tori finds a way to make something good from her pain. Surely fate can find a way to reward such a special woman. Ms. Keller adds a twist to her plot that brings the story together at the end with a satisfactory solution!

I enjoyed The Hierophant: Dark Shadows, as I have other books I’ve read by Ms. Keller. Ms Keller remains a favorite author for me when I want an unusual story with a unique perspective!

Mikhail Romanasky is known as the Amazing Mikhail, Fortune Teller. Her business has been profitable, and the last six months the entrepreneur really has been successful. There is one downside; the police are often suspicious of gypsy activities. Mikhail sees visions of a future kidnapping involving a young boy and goes to the police station. She hopes a detective will believe her story. All she can tell them is the young boy comes from a prominent family with the letter ‘D’ in the name. Detective Jenson Palmer doesn’t believe anything when it comes to those claiming to predict the future. He wants to believe her but a past betrayal, and a fear of the unknown, makes him a nonbeliever. For them to work together, Jensen knows they must trust each other. Mikhail finds he is the only man she has been close to besides her father. Their investigation draws them closer together, as feelings erupt never before felt. As the madman closes in for the kill, Jensen wonders will he lose the one woman who can make him believe.

Believe is an awesome, I mean awesome book. I was completely drawn into the characters of Mikhail and Jensen. The storyline grabs and kept me in suspense until the ending. I love how Mikhail and Jensen work together, not to mention the way their budding relationship blossoms. Their sweet chemistry pulled me deeper into this magnificent story. I wish I could give it more than a 5, it is so spectacular. This is a highly recommended read I think everyone would enjoy. I got lost in the pages, because jj Keller gives the audience a fast–paced entertaining read where the adrenaline rushes. This story consumes with vibrant characters, and an evil person that this reader wanted to reach through the pages and stomp.

The Ghost Inside, reviewed by Manic Readers
Jacey Hewson just inherited her great aunt’s house and plans to fix it up to sell so she can use the money to open her dream antique store. Plus according to family stories, the old house conceals a mystery that when solved might also bring Jacey more money. Griff Carpenter runs a construction business and enjoys working on old houses to restore them to their former glory and the money he can earn with the renovations. Griff wanted to work on the old Ames Mansion before he met the new owner but one look at Jacey and he wants to get to know the owner too.

This is a cute ghost story, mystery, and romance all rolled up in to one. Jacey and Griff are likable characters and their romance is quick yet sensual. But Jacey has a goal and despite her attraction to Griff she intends to meet her goal. Griff is set on seducing Jacey hoping that he can change her mind. Both of these characters are strong and motivated in their own way. The ghost in the house also offers some interesting interactions with Jacey and her visiting best friend. Plus the path to discover who the bad guys are is twisted and complicated but well done when the characters finally figure it out. j.j. Keller is a master of creepy stories edged with a touch of humor.

Surprisingly, it is the ghost in this story that tweaked my unusual sense of humor! He is rather proud of himself and his ghostly assets. I have enjoyed every j.j. Keller book I have read and this one doesn’t disappoint! If you want a story filled with suspense, ghostly interactions, and romance, you will enjoy The Ghost Inside.

Mystique Books Recommends Melody's Song 4.5 Moons
Melody Haney sings like an angel, but has put that part of her life to rest. Buried and in her past, like the tragic passing of her young son. Accepting an invitation to sing for cancer-stricken children, she is suddenly thrust into the role of "Person of Interest" when expensive cancer medication suddenly shows up missing. Now she's on a quest to find the thieves, return the needed medication to the children, and to clear her name. Beside her is the very hunky Dr. Devon Siegal, pediatric oncologist, who believes in Melody even though the circumstances paint her as guilty.

This is a very romantic story, having an underlying sweetness that enhanced the idea of bruised innocence but did nothing to dilute the air of mystery threaded through the story. One of the best points MELODY'S SONG makes is that no matter your circumstances, no matter your lot in life, you needn't loose your self-respect. More, you can rise above all challenges if you believe enough in yourself and are willing to risk all to make that change. This is a point that we should always remember and never forget. Too many times does life drag us down to the mude. It's only through faith and courage do we step free and I congratualte J.J. Keller for portraying this struggle so believably with Melody Haney. Very, very well done. Recommended.

Paranormal Romance Reviews Melody's Song
"Melody's song is a touching romance"

Melody has the voice of an angel, but the death of her son and loss of hope makes her rethink her life. She stops going to auditions and works in a small diner. Relationships are one let down after another. A trip to a physic changes everything. Her boss's niece invites her to sing for the children in the very same medical unit that her son died in. Facing that is something she does not want to face, but she begrudgingly accepts. In the very unit where her life was torn apart she meets someone that might be able to help her put it back together, if she can get past his arrogance.

Dr. Devon is a pediatric oncologist. The last thing he wants is another woman in his life right now. After his wife left him he made a contract with his brother to help his research study for school, one year without sex. Then the women with the angel voice shows up. She's beautiful and sassy, and a suspect in a horrendous crime. He promises to help the detective catch the criminals and vows to himself to watch her continuously when she's at the hospital. What starts as a simple plan to learn about her for the case ends up with him asking her out. His brother's study just might have to wait.

Melody's Song is a touching romance that explores finding love and hope after losing the most important thing in life. Though the very beginning is a little hard to follow it is explained and caught up on later in the story. The sex scenes are deliciously sweet and passionate. There is a mention of whips, chains, etc. by a villainous character. Over all, the book is sweet and touching and will make you cry in places.

Five Stars

What a great book! I enjoyed this one from beginning to end and wanted more. Even those who don’t usually enjoy books with a paranormal theme will enjoy this one. Ms. Keller surmounted every preconceived notion I’ve ever had. I had no choice but to Believe. The character development is superlative. Mikhail and Jensen are utterly alive and on occasion, I almost felt they discussed the case with me personally; they were that realistic. Jensen’s partner, Jack, is a delightful addition to the team and adds a touch of humor to the mix. He knows Jensen so well he is able to play on Jensen’s angst for both his own and our amusement. Jensen’s sister and nephew, as well as Mikhail’s father and mother, are important secondary characters who help to move the plot along so it never lags. The pace is constant and fast, often relieved only by the wholly unwanted, but nevertheless, tremendous sexual tension between Jensen and Mikhail. The consummation is worth days of fantasizing fodder. The suspense is necessarily high as well. Believe is everything I love in a book. I recommend this one for everybody.

Paranormal Suspense

Cobblestone Press Ebook

Mikhail Romanasky is as psychic gifted with the ability of seeing snippets into the future. Lately she’s been having vision of small children being abducted and reluctantly goes to the Chicago police to prevent the crime. Having had a bad experience with the police in the past, the dread of walking through the front entrance has her breaking out in a sweat. Yet, there is nothing she won’t endure to protect the strange child she’s seen in her vision. When she’s introduced to Det. Jensen Palmer, she never expects to meet the man who will change her life forever.

Jensen Palmer is a hard working and dedicated detective who doesn’t believe in nonsense things such as psychics or seeing the future. So, while Mikhail initially attracts and intrigues him, he’s still thinks she’s nothing more than a fraud out to milk money out of an unsuspecting family. That is until she prevents the kidnapping of his nephew. When this happens he realizes that there is something very special about this small and determined woman, who over a short period of time manages to sneak in and steal his heart.

This gem of a romance grabbed my undivided attention from the very first paragraph and didn’t let go until I’d raced to the final page. This fast paced and well plotted story is filled with all the things that make a book great…suspense, danger, deceit, bigotry and intense sizzling attraction that blooms into deep and abiding love. Even though these two independent individuals start off filled with mistrust, it’s not long before their desire overrides their misgivings, tumbling them into one another’s arms. One of the best and most unexpected gems in this book is diabolical child predator and his plans for using kidnapped children with special abilities as weapons of destruction in the future. The scary thing about this premise is how easy it would be for an evil and unscrupulous political leader, scientist or wealthy industrialist to do this very thing…and who says they haven’t already tried. After all, checks and balances of power are only as good as the men and woman who follow them.

This is the first book by Ms. Keller that I’ve had the opportunity to read, and it certainly won’t be the last. This reader eagerly waits for the next installment, The Watcher, by this inventive and talented writer.

Five Fallen Angels for BELIEVE
What a wonderful suspenseful story! Believe by J. J. Keller just may make a believer out of all of us. From the beginning of the story right up to the end, the reader is kept sitting on the edge of their seat wondering what will happen next. Even if you think psychics are a bunch of frauds, you will find yourself not only believing in Mikhail but rooting for her to convince Jensen and quickly. It is amazing how evil the human mind can be when there is greed and science involved and that is what the bad guy in this story portrays and who knows maybe there is a little truth in this evil plot? It is also obvious by the end of the story that there is more to come and I know Ms. Keller to date has a second book out, The Watcher, that appears to be a sequel. I intend to read it soon and see where Ms. Keller will take me and my imagination next!

The Watcher

This is a well-written story of lost love and true soul mates. I was drawn in by the love between Emily and her mysterious voice, Netzach. But their struggle to overcome evil in their quest to be together forever is what kept me anxiously turning the pages. I was lost in this story from the first chapter and will definitely ad it to my list to read again. Anyone who loves a wonderful love story and the battle of good versus evil will love this one.

Five Flags, The Watcher
If you enjoy suspenseful, well-written stories that delve into dreams and thoughts of the supernatural--of angels, tarot cards, crystal balls, fortune tellers, and of forces of good fighting forces of evil, then you should thoroughly enjoy this fantastic read, The Watcher! Great job, jj Keller.

Night Owl Romance Reviews
Emily Lucent has been hearing a man's voice and cannot be sure if he is a ghost or if she's just plain loosing her mind. With the aid of a fortune teller she discovers her mysterious voice has a name, Netzach. Although Emily develops feelings for Netzach, she questions how she can realistically love and experience a physical affair with a spirit?

As Emily's watcher, Netzach can only observe her and is forbidden to interfere with her life. A difficult scenario for Netzach to accept, considering that they are soul mates and that Emily's life is in terrible danger. Will one moment of desire to be reunited with his eternal true love affect their outcome to be together forever?

Can your heart race in anticipation at the sound of a male spirit's voice? This reviewer thought so, especially when reading the heart felt story of Emily and Netzach. How wonderfully refreshing to have an author remind us that love is eternal and also that through love anything is possible. This story contained a potpourri of magical elements guaranteed to satisfy every palette. A job well done by Ms. Keller and I truly hope that her future releases are as captivating as The Watcher.

JJ Keller creates a story that grabs you at the first page. The author entangles you in her wonderful story and just as you start to cry at the injustice done to Emily, she puts a smile on your face. The Watcher is not much on white hot sex, but you get a vivid tour of Scotland and a great plot instead, and I have never enjoyed a story more. The Watcher is one of those books that you just want to read again and I heartily recommend it!
